Craps RulesFor the beginner, the betting rules for the game of craps may at first feel a bit confusing, but with the basic rules and strategies outlined in the game tutorials from VIPcasinos, all players can quickly get to the tables--and win!
Every bet rests upon the point value of two dice thrown by the player, called the shooter. For most players, the real work is knowing how to place a winning bet. There are numerous bets, as outlined on the craps table, but to get started, it is best to learn the most basic ones.
The Pass Line automatically wins if the shooter rolls a seven or 11 during the "come out" roll--the first roll. If a two, three, or 12 is rolled, the shooter automatically loses. If any other number is rolled, this becomes the point, and the shooter can win if the point is repeated before rolling a seven. The Don't Pass Line calls an automatic win if a two or three is rolled on the "come out" roll, a twelve results in a stand-off with no wins, and the seven or 11 is ruled as an automatic loss.
The win and loss scenarios for the Come bet are identical to the Pass Line rules; the main difference between them is the Come bet is placed only after the point has been established in a Pass Line situation. The Don't Come bet follows the same win and loss rules as the Don't Pass Line bet, and again, can only be placed after the point is established.
