Anti-Collusion

There is very little that cheaters can do online. They cannot mark the cards, peek at your hole cards, stack the deck or put a cold deck on the table. Playing poker online is very safe. Things that can – and do – happen in land-based casinos and card rooms can’t happen on line.

However, there is one thing that happens in land-based casinos that some cheaters do try to get away with online: collusion, that is, sharing information and playing their hands in order to help each other win. This is also known as “playing partners".

Colluding is not tolerated at VIP.com Poker . In order to thwart any and all attempts at collusion among players, Microgaming, with its years of experience in fraud detection and prevention, has developed Collusion Detection Software (patent pending) that, among other capabilities, tracks all play in real time. Every hand played at VIP.com Poker is automatically and instantly analyzed. The software watches for and recognizes in real time any and all plays used by colluding players and, whenever any suspicious plays are detected, the players’ hand histories are brought up for examination by our experienced, expert staff. Colluders will have their accounts frozen and be banned from VIP.com Poker and all its affiliated sites worldwide. The Microgaming Network does not allow players to change their alias, as such, you know who you're playing against at all times.

Chat Rules

The Microgaming Network allows players to interact with one another as they might do in a bricks and mortar casino, by providing a chat facility.
The topics discussed listed below are the various aspects that can have a player's chat disabled.

1. Foreign language

Flags are placed by the side of each table, players are only allowed to chat in the language that corresponds with that flag, if there is no flag the table is deemed as English only this is in order to create a community feel on the network that all players are part of. The player will get a warning once followed by a more emphatic warning. If the player speaks in more a foreign language again, the chat facility will be disabled immediately.

Should a player wish to have their chat re-enabled, they would have to contact their operator and provide an explanation and apology.

Please note that Microgaming reserves the right to refuse to re-enable a player's chat without further explanation.

2. Rude and abusive language

This is not taken lightly. Some players get very aggressive when chatting and verbally abuse other players, including making racially offensive comments. This is monitored closely so that transgressing players can have their chat disabled immediately.

3. Advertising

No advertising is allowed on the Microgaming Network. Any player found to be deliberately or continuously advertising, competitor or poker-related website, will have their chat disabled immediately, without warning.

4. Spam

Sometimes players just randomly enter spam into the text field for no apparent reason. This can irritate the other players, as they are not able to use this facility properly due to the amount of spamming. This could also disturb their concentration on the game.

5. Caps lock

As an offence, chatting in Caps Lock is not very serious, being more an issue of chat etiquette. However it can sometimes become a problem as other players at the table interpret this as shouting. If it is a repeat offender or other players on the table complain, the player is asked to remove their caps lock.

6. Coffehousing

Coffeehousing occurs when players use the chat facility to influence their opponent's actions and thus the outcome of the game. This is done via intimidation, abuse or revealing the strength of their hands (usually fake). Such abuse of the chat facility is not allowed.
