Tournament Details*
Overview
The 4th Annual VIP.com Invitational Pro-Am comprises 4 simultaneous events.
- A Professional Strokeplay Championship over 3 rounds.
- A Scratch Amateur Strokeplay Championship over 3 rounds, open to all players with a handicap of 15 and lower. In the event of a tie in either championship a sudden-death playoff will take place to decide the champion.
- A team Pro-Am Tournament over two days, each team consisting of 1 professional and 3 amateurs. 2 scores per hole will count: one ‘bruto’ score of the professional and one ‘netto’ score from the amateurs. The score of 2 different players must be used each time, in other words the same player may not count his or her bruto and netto score
The total scores of the 2 days will decide the winning team. In event of a tie, the last 3, 6, 9 and 18 holes will decide 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.
Speed of play is very important to ensure completion of play, the professional is responsible for his team’s timing.
Any player who cannot contribute to his/her teams score must pick his/her ball up.
Breaking Ties
Ties among the top teams in each Flight will be broken by a Scorecard Playoff, matching each team’s total score (based on the day’s format) for the back-nine holes (as indicated on the scorecard). If ties remain, scores will be matched similarly for the front nine and then on a hole-by-hole basis working back from 18.
Tournament Rules
All rules are in accordance with the rules of golf set by the USGA. Local rules will be indicated on the daily format sheets as outlined by the Head Golf Professional at each host course. The tournament committee reserves the right to review and adjust individual or team handicaps as necessary.
Blue Bay Curacao
You are allowed to mark, clean, lift and place your ball within ONE scorecard, length, but no nearer to the hole throughout the whole golf course, with exception in the hazard.
Curacao Golf & Squash Club
You are allowed to mark, clean, lift and place your ball within ONE scorecard, length, but no nearer to the hole only on the fairways.
Contest
Professional competing for the $5000 first prize. We will be giving great prizes for all nearest the pins on the par 3 at both Emmastad and Blue Bay only in the pro-am days
Longest drives are a special in this event. Wait for the speed prize.
Golf bag Storage
If you like we can store your bag at Blue Bay Curacao and have your clubs cleaned to a sparkle.
Course Transfers
Transportation for daily golf rounds and returns to the resort will depart promptly at the scheduled times. The hotel shuttle to/ from Blue Bay Curacao runs continuously throughout the day. The tournament shuttles between Blue Bay and Emmastad will run continuously within the timeframe indicated in the event schedule only.
Attire
Appropriate golf attire is required at all times on all tournament courses. Resort casual dress is expected at each of the evening functions. For the closing Award Dinner, guests are kindly asked to refrain from wearing flip-flops and shorts.
